Don’t Sleep on The Assignment
Scripture
“Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.”
— Ephesians 5:14
Ponder This
There is a difference between resting in the Lord and sleeping through what He has called you to do. Our Father gives His beloved sleep, but He also calls us to awake. There are moments when delay is not rest… it is distraction. It is avoidance. It is fear dressed up as “I’ll do it later.”
The assignment on your life is not random. It is intentional. It carries purpose, impact, and timing. When you “sleep” on it, you risk missing the very moments that were designed for your obedience, your growth, and someone else’s breakthrough.
Sometimes we wait until we feel ready. Sometimes we wait until it’s perfect. Sometimes we wait until we feel confident. But the call is not, “Wake up when you feel like it.” The call is, “Awake… and Christ will give you light.”
That means clarity comes after movement. Strength comes upon your obedience. Light meets you when you rise.
Don’t sleep on the assignment. Don’t delay what Our Father has already released. Don’t shrink back when you’ve been called forward. Wake up to your role. Wake up to your voice. Wake up to your responsibility in this season.
There is something attached to your “Yes.”
Prayer
Our Father, thank You for calling us with purpose and intention. Forgive us for the moments we have delayed, ignored, or slept through what You have placed in our hands. Thank You for stirring us, awakening us, and giving us the courage to move when You say move. We choose to let Your light meet us as we rise in obedience. Strengthen us to walk fully in the assignment You have given us. In the name of Jesus. Amen.
