Fire From Heaven

Scripture

“And Moses and Aaron went into the tabernacle of the congregation, and came out, and blessed the people: and the glory of the LORD appeared unto all the people.

And there came a fire out from before the LORD, and consumed upon the altar the burnt offering and the fat: which when all the people saw, they shouted, and fell on their faces.”

Ponder This

Throughout Scripture, fire from Heaven marked the presence and activity of Our Father. His fire consumed the sacrifice in worship, answered prayer, purified His people, empowered His servants, and demonstrated His glory.

The question is not, “Can fire fall?” The question is, “Have we prepared an altar?”

Fire from Heaven did not fall on empty ground. It fell where there was surrender. It fell where there was obedience. It fell where a sacrifice had been prepared.

Today, through Christ, we become living sacrifices. As we surrender our lives to Him, Our Father continues to reveal His presence, ignite our hearts, purify our motives, and empower us to fulfill His purposes.

Some seek His power more than His presence, but the reality is that when His presence fills our lives, His fire accomplishes everything He desires...His purposes.

Prayer

Our Father, thank You for helping me to understand that my desire for You is most important. Thank You for leading me to prepare my heart as an altar that honors You. Purify every motive, consume everything that does not reflect Christ, and fill me afresh with Your Holy Spirit. Let the fire of Heaven ignite greater love, deeper obedience, holy boldness, and steadfast faith within me. I choose for my life to continually bring You glory and honor. In the name of Jesus. Amen.
