Honor His Temple

Honor His Temple

Scripture

“What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.”

-1 Corinthians 6:19–20 (KJV)

Ponder This

We often think of abuse as something harsh or intentional. But sometimes, abuse looks like overriding wisdom - ignoring rest, pushing past limits, or demanding more from the body than Our Father required in a moment.

Our bodies are not obstacles to Our Father's will; they are the dwelling place of His Spirit.

When we rush, neglect sleep, ignore hunger, or carry more than we were assigned, we risk dishonoring the very temple Our Father chose to inhabit.

Stewardship is not laziness. Rest is not disobedience. Listening to your body is not lack of faith. Our Father is not glorified by burnout. He is glorified by alignment - spirit, soul, and body working together.

Today, the invitation is simple:

Honor His temple.

Slow when He says slow.

Pause when He says pause.

Fuel what He has chosen to fill.

Reflection

  • Where might I be pushing when Our Father is inviting me to steward?

  • What would honoring my body look like today?

Prayer

Our Father, forgive me for the times I’ve demanded more from my body than You required. Thank You for teaching me to honor the temple You call home. Help me move in alignment, not pressure,

and to glorify You in both my body and my spirit. In the name of Jesus. Amen.
