Let Me Serve
Scripture
“For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.”
— Mark 10:45 (KJV)
Ponder This
In a world that often asks, “What can I get?” the Kingdom of God asks, “Who can I serve?”
Jesus, the King of kings and Lord of lords, did not come demanding recognition, status, or personal gain. He came to serve. He washed feet, fed the hungry, healed the broken, comforted the hurting, and ultimately gave His life for others. His example reveals that true greatness is found in humility and love.
Serving is not simply an action; it is a posture of the heart. When we walk with Christ, we begin to see people differently. Instead of asking how others can benefit us, we begin asking, “Lord, how can I be a blessing? How can I serve Your purposes in the lives of others?”
Service may look different each day. It may be a word of encouragement, a prayer, a listening ear, a helping hand, or an act of generosity. Often the greatest acts of service happen quietly, away from applause and recognition. Yet Our Father sees every act done in love.
As followers of Christ, we are called to reflect His heart. When we serve others, we demonstrate His love and become vessels through which His grace can flow.
Today, be encouraged to let your prayer be simple: “Lord, let me serve.” Ask Him to open your eyes to opportunities around you and to give you a willing heart that reflects the servant nature of Christ.
Reflection
Do I approach others with a servant’s heart or with expectations?
Where is Our Father inviting me to serve today?
Am I willing to serve even when no one notices?
Prayer
Our Father, thank You for the example of Jesus, who came not to be served but to serve. Create in me a humble and willing heart. Open my eyes to the needs around me and show me how to be Your hands and feet. Help me to serve with love, joy, and sincerity, seeking Your approval rather than the praise of people. I choose to let my life reflect the servant heart of Christ so that others may encounter Your goodness through me. In the name of Jesus. Amen.
Declaration
I choose the way of Christ. I will look for opportunities to serve, love, encourage, and bless others. My life is not my own; it belongs to the Lord, and I am honored to serve His purposes.
