Our Father Is Our Refuge and Strength

Our Father Is Our Refuge and Strength

Scripture

“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.”

Psalm 46:1

Ponder This

When trouble comes, scripture does not say help is merely on the way, it reminds us that Our Father Himself is our present help. Our Father is not distant in our distress. He is not observing from afar. He is present in the middle of the pressure.

Our Father is our refuge, our place of shelter when life feels overwhelming. Our Father is our strength, our source when we may feel weak. This means we do not overcome trouble by pretending to be strong. We overcome by running to the One who is.

When pressure rises, when grief hits, when confusion tries to cloud our minds, when adversity presses from every side, we have a choice to lean-in to Our Father as a refuge. Be strengthened by Our Father that is strong and mighty. Trust Him as our present help.

Our trouble may be real, but so is Our Father who stands with us in it.

Prayer

Our Father, thank You for being our refuge and our strength. When trouble rises, thank You for reminding us to fix our eyes on You and to trust You instead of caving in to fear, panic, or frustration. Thank You for being present in every battle and faithful in every storm. Strengthen our hearts. We choose to embrace Your peace, and to trust You for wonderful treasures. In the name of Jesus. Amen.
