The Bride Must Kill Lust

The Bride Must Kill Lust

Scripture

“But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.

Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.”

James 1:14–15 (KJV)

Ponder This

The Bride of Christ cannot flirt with what she is called to crucify. Lust is not just sexual. It is any craving that competes with devotion. It is desire out of order. It is appetite without surrender. The Bride must be pure in affection, not just behavior.

Lust begins quietly with a glance, a thought, a fantasy, and/or an ambition that leaves Our Father out. What is not killed in seed form will mature into separation.

Intimacy with Christ demands exclusivity. You cannot be filled with Him and fueled by what fights Him. The Bride does not manage lust; she is called to mortify it.

Whatever occupies the heart will determine who sits on the throne.

Prayer

Father, purify my desires. Expose every appetite that competes with You. Thank You for teaching me to crucify what would corrupt my devotion. I choose intimacy over impulse, holiness over hunger,

and You over every longing within me. You are my substance. Thank You for teaching me that I was created to find my fullness in You - not apart from You. I embrace Your truth. In the name of Jesus. Amen.
