A Good Thing and Favor

A Good Thing and Favor

Scripture

“Whoso findeth a wife findeth a good thing, and obtaineth favour of the LORD.”

– Proverbs 18:22 (KJV)

Ponder This

Marriage (Kingdom Union) is not an accident; it’s part of Our Father's divine design. The verse reminds us that when a man finds a wife, he is not just adding a person to his life, he is receiving a blessing from the Lord. A wife is called a “good thing” - a source of joy, partnership, encouragement, and strength.

But the verse goes even further: in finding a wife, a man obtains favor from the Lord. This means Our Father smiles upon the union, pouring out grace that strengthens, sustains, and prospers it. It also means that marriage (Kingdom Union) is meant to be a reflection of Our Father's love - a place where honor, respect, and mutual support bring life and blessing.

For husbands, this truth is a call to recognize their wives as living expressions of Our Father's favor. For wives, it’s a reminder that they are valuable, precious, and divinely appointed to walk alongside their husbands. For both, it is encouragement to cultivate gratitude, respect, and love so that the marriage (Kingdom Union) reflects the goodness of the Lord.

Prayer

Father God, thank You for the gift of marriage (a Kingdom Union) and for calling it a good thing. Thank You for helping husbands to cherish their wives as a blessing and favor from You. Thank You for helping wives to see their worth and value in Your plan. Thank You for helping our marriages (Kingdom Unions) reflect Your love, and bring glory to Your name. Thank You for reminding us to honor one another, walk in unity, and live in gratitude for the divine favor You pour into our homes. We use our authority in You to call forth and upgrade marriages all around the world to become Kingdom Unions. We also call forth new Kingdom Unions to emerge. In the name of Jesus. Amen.
