A Word of Knowledge
“For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit.”
1 Corinthians 12:8 (KJV)
Ponder This
A Word of Knowledge is supernatural insight given by Holy Spirit - information you could not know naturally. It comes instantly, with purpose, and is revealed.
Purpose
A Word of Knowledge is given to:
• reveal what Our Father sees
• confirm what Holy Spirit is stirring
• expose the enemy’s works
• strengthen faith
• guide prayer
• bring comfort, healing, or direction
• point people to Jesus
This gift edifies, restores, corrects, and protects.
How It Works
Holy Spirit drops a specific knowing - often brief - such as a name, condition, hidden struggle, memory, or location. Scripture calls it a “Word." One Word of Knowledge received by a breathing and willing vessel that submits to Our Father will not only be transformed by the Word but will also change the world with the divine intel received.
Biblical Examples
• Jesus and the Samaritan woman
(John 4:16–18)
• Ananias receiving details about Saul
(Acts 9:10–12)
• Peter confronting Ananias and Sapphira
(Acts 5:1–4)
Each example brought redemption, purity, clarity, and Kingdom of God advancement.
Why It Matters
In a generation full of confusion, Heaven equips believers with supernatural discernment to walk in truth and minister accurately. This gift is not for control or curiosity - it is holy stewardship handled with humility and love.
Prayer
Father God, thank You for Holy Spirit. Thank You for sharpening my discernment and purifying my motives. Teach me to steward every Word of Knowledge with diligence, humility, compassion, and obedience. Use me to edify the Saints, and to reach out to those who are lost. In the name of Jesus. Amen.
Declaration
I walk in Holy Spirit-led insight. I speak only what Heaven speaks. I steward revelation with diligence, follow-through, holiness, humility, and love.
Reflection
• Has Our Father ever revealed something to you supernaturally?
• How did you respond?
• How can you grow in sensitivity to Holy Spirit?
