Be Steadfast and Unmovable

Be Steadfast and Unmovable

Scripture:

“Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.” – 1 Corinthians 15:58 (KJV)

Devotion:

Life brings storms, trials that test our faith, challenges that shake our confidence, and distractions that attempt to pull us away from God’s purpose. Yet, Paul reminds us in 1 Corinthians 15:58 to remain steadfast and unmovable, always working in alignment with God’s will.

To be steadfast means to be firmly grounded, unwavering in our faith. To be unmovable means that no matter what comes our way, temptation, discouragement, or hardship, we refuse to be shaken. This doesn’t mean we won’t feel the weight of trials, but it does mean that our foundation in Christ will keep us from being crushed.

Paul also encourages us to keep abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that every act of obedience, every prayer, every sacrifice, and every moment we trust God is not in vain. Even when we don’t see immediate results, God is working through us and for us.

However, we must recognize that there will be moments where we may feel unfavorable circumstances. Maybe frustration creeps in, fear tries to take hold, or exhaustion makes us want to give up. But if we refuse to quit, we will be renewed! That’s called a breakthrough! The enemy may try to make us feel like we’ve failed, but the key is to keep pressing forward, knowing that God’s strength is made perfect in our weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9).

Reflection Questions:

• What area of your life is being shaken right now?

• How can you stand firm in your faith today?

• What does it mean to “abound in the work of the Lord” in your daily life?

• Where have you seen God renew you after moments of struggle?

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, I thank You that You are my firm foundation. Thank You for strengthening me to be steadfast and unmovable in my faith. When I stumble, remind me that my breakthrough is on the other side of perseverance. I choose to trust You in every challenge and remain committed to Your work. I look forward to renewal in You always, knowing that my labor is not in vain. In the name of Jesus. Amen.
