Deliverance is the Work of Disciples
Scripture
“Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on Him, If ye continue in My word, then are ye My disciples indeed.”
— John 8:31 (KJV)
Ponder This
Salvation opens the door. Discipleship builds the life. Deliverance is not administered by converts, it’s administered by disciples. Salvation brings you into the Kingdom. Discipleship trains you to operate in the Kingdom. Only those who continue in Jesus’ word (John 8:31) walk in the authority, identity, and maturity to command darkness.
Belief must grow into followership. Followership must grow into obedience. Obedience matures into authority. And authority is where deliverance flows.
The twelve did not cast out devils on day one. They walked with Him. They learned His voice. They submitted to His ways. They allowed Him to shape their identity.
And then He gave them authority:
“And when he had called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease."
— Matthew 10:1 (KJV)
The pattern is clear:
Identity → Discipleship → Authority → Deliverance.
Converts celebrate salvation. Disciples enforce the Kingdom. Deliverance is not the entry-level work of the saved, it is the assigned work of the trained.
Your Focus Today
Ask Holy Spirit:
• Am I operating from identity or imitation?
• Am I continuing in His Word daily?
• Am I growing from believer → follower → disciple?
• Am I positioned to administer deliverance with purity, humility, and precision?
Deliverance flows through those who are formed by Jesus, not just those who confess Jesus.
Prayer
Our Father, thank You that salvation opened the door for me. I desire to be all that you envision for me. I desire to be a true disciple. Shape my identity, mature my walk, and train my spirit to carry Your authority with humility. Make me a vessel You can trust to administer deliverance with accuracy, compassion, and power. In the name of Jesus. Amen.
