Deliverance Moves When We Stand Still
Scripture
“And Moses said unto the people, fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will shew to you today: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen today, ye shall see them again no more for ever.”
— Exodus 14:13 (KJV)
Ponder This
Israel stood trapped. Red Sea in front, Pharaoh behind. No strategy. No strength. No escape. Yet Moses gives the most unexpected instruction: “Stand still.” Why? Because deliverance was not going to flow from their panic…but from their posture.
At the Red Sea, Our Father reveals a principle: Deliverance begins when we stop moving in fear and start standing in trust. Israel didn’t part the waters. Israel didn’t break the enemy’s power. Israel didn’t crush Pharaoh’s army. Jehovah Miphalti did.
Their role was alignment:
• stand still
• stay positioned
• trust His arm
• watch Him work
Standing still is not inactivity, it is spiritual positioning. It says: “I refuse to wrestle in my strength. I stand in His.” And just like Israel, when we stand in trust instead of striving, the waters open, the enemy loses power, the path appears, and deliverance becomes visible.
Deliverance flows from posture before action.
Prayer
Our Father, teach us to stand still. Deliver us from frantic movement and lift us into alignment with Your Spirit. As we trust Your arm, we have an expectancy that You will part every sea and silence every Pharaoh pursuing us. We look to You, our Deliverer, again and again at every level of glory. In the name of Jesus. Amen.
