Disciples Make Disciples
Scripture
“Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.”
– Matthew 28:19–20 (KJV)
Ponder This
Discipleship is incomplete until it reproduces. You know you are a disciple when:
• You can guide someone
• You can correct someone
• You can teach someone
• You can model Christ for someone
• You can walk with someone
• You can help form someone
Disciples produce disciples.
Jesus did not commission the church to simply gather people, He commissioned His disciples to reproduce His life in others. “Teach all nations” is not about information; it is formation. It is helping someone else grow into obedience, identity, character, and purpose. A disciple carries the responsibility to multiply what Heaven placed inside them.
Real discipleship is relational. You cannot teach obedience from a distance. You must walk with people the way Jesus walks with you - guiding them, correcting them, modeling Christ, and helping them grow in real time. Jesus said, “teach them to observe,” which means discipleship must touch behavior, decisions, lifestyle, and choices. This is why reproduction is the measurement: if what Jesus taught you isn’t being passed on, a layer of discipleship remains incomplete.
Prayer
Father, thank You for calling me into the Great Commission. Thank You for teaching me to carry Your heart as I disciple others. Help me guide, correct, walk with, and model Christ to those You assign to me. Give me grace, patience, courage, and wisdom to teach others to observe all that Jesus commanded. Let my life reproduce the life of Christ in others, for Your glory. In the name of Jesus. Amen.
Declaration
I am a disciple who produces disciples. I teach, model, guide, and form others as Holy Spirit leads me, and Jesus is with me always.
Reflection Questions
1. Who is Heaven leading you to disciple right now?
2. Which discipleship action - guiding, correcting, walking with, modeling - needs strengthening in your life?
3. How can you help someone grow in obedience to Jesus this week?
Activation
Choose one person and take one direct discipleship action: teach a principle, walk with them through a decision, model a Christ-like response, or share what Jesus has commanded.
