Joy Capacity
Scripture
“They that sow in tears shall reap in joy.”
— Psalm 126:5
Ponder This
See tears through a new lens. Every tear shed in faith… Every prayer whispered while tired… Every act of obedience that costs you something…
Those weren’t just tears falling, seeds were going into the ground. You thought you were just crying, but Our Father recorded it as sowing. And not only that, scripture also shows us our tears are not ignored, dismissed, or wasted.
“Thou tellest my wanderings: put thou my tears into thy bottle: are they not in thy book?”
— Psalm 56:8 (KJV)
Our Father doesn’t just see your tears…He keeps them. He records them. He values what you poured out. Tears are not just signs of pain, they are watering seeds Our Father allowed you to plant, and they are precious enough to be held in Heaven’s record. But here’s the part we don’t always see: Joy has a capacity. You can only carry the level of joy your soul has been stretched to hold.
And tears? They stretch you.
Just like tea must steep in hot water before it releases strength and richness, your spirit deepens in seasons that feel heavy. Something is being drawn out. Something is being developed. Something is expanding. You thought you were barely making it. Our Father was increasing your joy capacity.
Because the harvest coming requires a heart that can hold it without losing Him in it. The laughter coming will be deeper. The peace coming will be steadier. The gratitude coming will be fuller. Why?
Because you’ve sown in places most people would have walked away. Your tears didn’t weaken you. They prepared you. They were planted in the earth and preserved in Heaven.
Prayer
Our Father, thank You that no tear sown in faith is wasted. Thank You that You see, keep, and record my tears. Thank You for strengthening me as You stretch my heart to carry the joy You have prepared. I desire and choose to see every season of weeping become soil for rejoicing. Thank You for increasing my joy capacity. In the name of Jesus. Amen.
