Lies That Keep People Bound
Scripture
“And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
— John 8:32 (KJV)
Ponder This
One of the greatest hindrances to deliverance is the lies people believe about deliverance. Lies create agreements. Agreements create access. Access creates bondage. Jesus taught that truth is what frees, not emotion, not volume, not fear, not superstition.
Here are three common lies that keep people bound:
1. Lie: “Deliverance is scary.”
Truth: Deliverance is the ministry of Jesus (Mark 1:39). Freedom is not frightening, torment is. Deliverance restores peace.
2. Lie: “Deliverance is only for the extreme cases.”
Truth: Jesus called it “the children’s bread” (Matthew 15:26). Deliverance is for every believer who wants to walk in wholeness, not just those with dramatic manifestations.
3. Lie: “Deliverance depends on my strength.”
Truth: Deliverance is the work of the Spirit, not human might (Zechariah 4:6). We partner through submission, not striving. Where lies are present, torment grows. Where truth enters, torment loses legal ground.
Deliverance is not drama, deliverance is the truth cutting through the lie that held the soul hostage.

Ask Holy Spirit:
• “What lie have I believed about deliverance?”
• “What truth are You revealing to me today?”
Freedom begins where truth is accepted.
Prayer
Our Father, expose every lie that has shaped my thinking, my expectations, and my faith. I desire Your truth to break every agreement with doubt, fear, confusion, sickness, superstition, and weariness. I choose to receive the freedom that comes by knowing You and walking in Your truth. In the name of Jesus. Amen.
