Purity and Security

Purity and Security

Scripture

“Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.”

— Matthew 5:8

Ponder This

Purity of soul is not about perfection of behavior, it is about clarity of inner alignment. The soul is your mind, will, and emotions (think tank). It’s where thoughts are formed, decisions are made, and feelings are processed. When the soul is cluttered with offense, fear, comparison, hidden motives, or unprocessed wounds, our vision becomes cloudy. We react instead of responding with purity and security. We hear, but we don’t discern clearly.

But when the soul is purified - not hardened, not numbed, but cleansed and yielded, we begin to see as Our Father sees.

Purity means:

  • motives becoming honest

  • emotions coming under peace

  • thoughts lining up with truth

  • desires being surrendered, not suppressed

It is not pretending we don’t feel things. It is allowing Our Father to wash what we feel so nothing impure remains lodged inside. A pure soul is soft, not guarded with hardness of the flesh to protect ourselves. A pure soul is clear, not crowded. It is yielded, not striving.

And here is the promise: “They shall see God.”

We see Him in situations. We see Him in people. We see His direction. We see His hand where others only see problems.

Impurity of soul distorts perception. Purity restores vision.

What Purifies the Soul?

  • Truth - replacing lies with what Our Father says

  • Forgiveness - releasing what tries to stay stuck

  • Surrender - letting go of control

  • His presence - where cleansing naturally happens

We don’t scrub our soul clean by effort. We yield it to be washed.

Prayer

Our Father, search my soul. Remove anything that clouds my sight. Cleanse my thoughts, purify my motives, settle my emotions in Your peace. I desire and choose a pure heart. Make my soul a clear place where Your presence rests freely. In the name of Jesus. Amen.
