Repent
Scripture
Acts 17:27–30 (KJV)
That they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us: For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring. Forasmuch then as we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Godhead is like unto gold, or silver, or stone, graven by art and man’s device. And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:
Ponder This
Paul spoke these words in Athens to people who were sincere yet misdirected - intellectually informed, spiritually searching, and aware that something was missing. Our Father did not condemn them for what they did not know; He allowed space for seeking - discovery.
But when truth was revealed, alignment was required.
This repentance is not shame-driven. It is the humble agreement that says, “Now that I see more clearly, I choose truth.” Our Father meets this response with mercy, wisdom, and peace.
Prayer
Our Father, thank You for being near even when my understanding was incomplete. Where I sought You sincerely but without full clarity, I now welcome Your truth. I repent without shame and align with what You have revealed. I receive Your wisdom and rest in Your peace. In the name of Jesus. Amen.
