Settle Your Trust in Singing

Settle Your Trust in Singing

Scripture (KJV)

“Is any among you afflicted? let him pray. Is any merry? let him sing psalms.”

— James 5:13

“And when they had sung an hymn, they went out into the mount of Olives.”

— Matthew26:30

Ponder This

Scripture gives us two clear practices. Prayer voices our need. Singing settles our trust.

Scripture shows us this modeled by Jesus Himself. After the Last Supper, before His arrest, before Gethsemane, before the cross, they sang a hymn. Jesus was part of “they.” He sang, knowing exactly what was coming next.

Jesus didn’t sing because the path was easy. He sang because His trust in Our Father was settled.

That’s the power of singing. It changes what’s happening within us. And once trust is settled in us, we can shift the atmosphere around us.

Singing doesn’t deny reality. It settles trust in the middle of it. And settled trust carries authority. That’s why singing is not just based on emotion or talent, it’s alignment. It grounds us in trust, and releases peace, clarity, and influence beyond us.

Prayer

Our Father, thank You for teaching us to pray and to sing until our trust is settled in You. As our trust settles, Your peace shifts the atmosphere around us. We choose to align with Your design. In the name of Jesus. Amen.
