Shaped Through Surrender

Shaped Through Surrender

Scripture

“For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.”

— Romans 8:29 (KJV)

“He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.”

— Isaiah 53:7 (KJV)

Ponder This

Jesus, the Suffering Servant, showed us that surrender is not weakness. Even through rejection, suffering, and pressure, He remained yielded to the will of Our Father. We desire transformation, but sometimes we don't quite understand the surrender and the process that goes along with it. Our Father uses seasons of refinement to shape our character, strengthen our faith, and conform us to the image of Christ.

For best outcomes, we must surrender pride, fear, offense, and control. When we do, we make room for Holy Spirit to form Christ within us more deeply, and that will impact everyone connected to us.

Prayer

Our Father, thank You for shaping us through surrender. Thank You for helping us to trust You in every season. We choose to yield fully to Your will. Thank You for forming the character of Christ within us. We choose to let our lives reflect Your nature. In the name of Jesus. Amen.
