The Power of Releasing Tears

Scripture

“When Jesus therefore saw her weeping, and the Jews also weeping which came with her, he groaned in the spirit, and was troubled, And said, Where have ye laid him? They said unto him, Lord, come and see. Jesus wept. Then said the Jews, Behold how he loved him!”

-John 11:33–36 (KJV)

Ponder This

Jesus wept...not from weakness, but from presence. Though He stood moments away from resurrection, He allowed tears to fall. His tears were not doubt; they were love released, compassion expressed, and grief acknowledged.

Tears do not cancel faith, they prepare the ground for it. What is released through tears often makes room for healing, restoration, and life.

How We Serve Others in Tears

We serve by being present, not rushing. We listen before we speak. We create safety for tears, trusting Our Father’s timing.

Prayer

Our Father, teach us to honor tears - our own and those of others. Help us serve with compassion and patience, trusting You to bring life where tears fall. In the name of Jesus. Amen.
