Watch & See
Scripture
“I will climb up to my watchtower and stand at my guardpost. There I will wait to see what the Lord says and how he will answer my complaint. Then the Lord said to me, ‘Write my answer plainly on tablets, so that a runner can carry the correct message to others. This vision is for a future time. It describes the end, and it will be fulfilled. If it seems slow in coming, wait patiently, for it will surely take place. It will not be delayed.'"
— Habakkuk 2:1–3 NLT
Ponder This
Habakkuk was tired of seeing wrong things happening around him. He brought his questions to Father God and then made a choice: he would stand and wait like a guard on duty. He didn’t rush away or demand instant answers - he said, “I will watch and see.”
Father God’s reply was both gentle and firm: “Write it down. Wait for it. It will happen in My time.”
Here’s what this means for us:
• Watch – Keep your eyes open in faith. Don’t quit when answers take longer than you hoped.
• Wait – Father God’s timing is not our timing. What looks like delay is often preparation.
• See – When Father God fulfills His word, it will be clear. No one will miss it.
Faith is learning to stay in position - like a guard on the tower - trusting that Father God always keeps His promises.
Prayer
Lord God, help me to stand strong in my faith like Habakkuk. Thank You for teaching me to watch with expectation and wait with patience. Even when things seem slow, thanks for reminding me that Your timing is perfect and Your promises never fail. I choose to trust You and to keep my eyes open for what You will do. Amen.
️ Activation
• Take one promise, prayer, or dream you’re holding before The Lord.
• Write it down - just like Father God told Habakkuk to do.
• Each day, look at what you wrote and say out loud:
“I will watch and see the Lord bring this to pass in His perfect time.”
Takeaway:
When it feels like nothing is changing, remember: Father God has not forgotten. Stand, watch, and see - He will do what He promised.
