We Desire to Please You

We Desire to Please You

Scripture

“Wherefore we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of him.”

— 2 Corinthians 5:9 (KJV)

Ponder This

Deep within every believer is a longing that goes beyond success, applause, or recognition, it’s the desire to please Our Father. It’s what pulls us toward obedience when no one else is watching and what convicts us when our hearts drift. To please Him is to live in alignment with His will, to move in sync with His heartbeat.

The Apostle Paul reminds us that this desire is not casual; it’s labor. It takes intention, humility, and surrender. Pleasing Our Father requires that we sometimes say no to ourselves so that we can say yes to Him. It means loving when it’s easier to ignore, forgiving when it feels unfair, and walking by faith when sight offers no clarity.

When we live to please Him, our motives are purified. We stop performing for people and start worshiping through our actions. The applause of Heaven becomes our greatest reward.

Declaration:

Lord, our desire is to please You. Let our thoughts, words, and actions reflect Your heart. When the world pulls for our attention, realign our focus. We live not for approval, but for acceptance in You.

Activation

1. Reflect: Ask Holy Spirit, “Lord, what in my life does not please You?”

2. Repent: Turn away from what distracts your heart from obedience.

3. Realign: Choose acts of kindness, patience, and faith, that brings joy to Our Father.

Closing Thought

When pleasing Our Father becomes your pursuit, peace will follow your path. You’ll find rest not in perfection, but in His pleasure, because when your heart is set on Him, He delights in you.
