What Needs to Be Aligned in Me?
Scripture
“And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed.”
— Mark 1:35 (KJV)
“And he preached in their synagogues throughout all Galilee, and cast out devils.”
— Mark 1:39 (KJV)
Ponder This
Mark 1 reveals a simple but powerful pattern in Jesus’ ministry: He prepared… and then He preached and cast out devils. He aligned… and then He operated. Before He stepped into public assignment, He stepped into private alignment. Mark 1:35 shows Jesus withdrawing, praying, and aligning Himself with the Father. Mark 1:39 shows the result. He preached with clarity and cast out devils with authority.
Preparation produced precision. Alignment produced effectiveness. Quiet agreement produced public authority.Mark 1 is a chapter of movement and momentum.
It shows:
• Jesus affirmed by our Father (v. 11)
• Jesus tested in the wilderness (v. 12–13)
• Jesus calling disciples to follow, not just believe (v. 16–20)
• Jesus teaching with unmatched authority (v. 22)
• Jesus demonstrating power over unclean spirits (v. 23–28)
• Jesus healing with compassion (v. 29–34)
• Jesus preparing early in prayer, then preaching and casting out devils (v. 35–39)
Jesus never ministered from impulse. He ministered from alignment.
What Alignment Looks Like (Role modeled by Jesus):
• ordering our spirit before ordering a spirit to leave
• letting our Father’s voice govern our next move
• checking motive before stepping into a moment
• responding from clarity, not irritation
• confronting only where Heaven assigns
• moving in peace, not pressure
Alignment is agreement with Heaven. Authority is the fruit of that agreement.
Prayer
Our Father, show me what needs to be aligned in me. I yield my thoughts, motives, and posture to come into agreement with You, just as Jesus intentionally aligned. I choose Your way, and not my own. In Jesus name. Amen.
