What You Sow Determines What You See

What You Sow Determines What You See

Scripture

“Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.”

— Galatians 6:7–8

“Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.”

— Luke 6:38

“While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.”

— Genesis 8:22

Ponder This

We often focus on what we are seeing…but it is important for us to examine what we are sowing. Because what shows up in our life is not random, it is the result of seeds spoken, chosen, and acted upon daily. What we sow determines what we see.

If we sow to the flesh (reaction, pride, frustration), the outcome will reflect that.

If we sow to the Spirit (peace, obedience, alignment), the outcome will reflect that.

This is a law that does not change. Seedtime and harvest will not cease. Every word is a seed. Every response is a seed. Every decision is a seed. Seeds take time… but they will produce. Sometimes we are asking Our Father to change what we see…while continuing to sow the same seeds.

Let’s flip the script:

If we want a different harvest, we must choose different seeds.

Prayer

Our Father, thank You for revealing the power of what we sow. Thank You for helping us to be intentional with our words, our actions, and our responses. Thank You for teaching us to sow to the Spirit and not to the flesh. We choose to operate in patience as we wait for the harvest, and wisdom to change our seeds where needed. We choose for our lives to reflect Your will and Your way. We choose to sow in alignment with You. In the name of Jesus. Amen.
