When Authority Fails but Our Father Reigns

When Authority Fails but Our Father Reigns

Scripture

“Will the unicorn be willing to serve thee, or abide by thy crib?”

Job 39:9 (KJV)

“The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.”

John 10:10 (KJV)

Ponder This

Job suffered injustice through circumstances beyond his control. When Our Father responded, He did not explain the injustice, He revealed His authority.

In Job 39, Our Father points to forces of strength that human authority cannot control. The “unicorn” represents power that cannot be managed or trusted by human systems, yet remains fully governed by Our Father. This truth matters when human authority fails us. When systems harm instead of help. When power is misused. When injustice feels unchecked.

Our Father reminds us that human authority has limits, but His does not. What feels ungoverned is not outside His oversight. Injustice does not mean He has lost control, it means human systems have reached their limits.

There is another layer we must discern. The devil often works through culture by distorting what Our Father established. He weakens truth not by erasing it, but by softening its meaning and separating it from Our Father. When biblical images (like the unicorn) are turned into fantasy, decoration, or self-defined symbols, their original purpose is lost. What once pointed to Our Father’s authority begins to feel harmless, optional, or unreal.

This is why discernment matters. When meaning is distorted, deception feels normal. When truth is softened, injustice feels final. Scripture restores our vision and reminds us that Our Father’s authority has not diminished, even when human systems fail.

Prayer

Our Father, You see the injustices we face and the failures of human authority. Guard our hearts from deception and help us discern truth in a distorted world. We desire and choose to trust in Your rule and anchor our hope in Your sovereignty. Strengthen us. In the name of Jesus, Amen.
