Wonder: The Doorway
Scripture
“Who is like unto thee, O LORD, among the gods? who is like thee, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders?”
— Exodus 15:11 (KJV)
Devotion
Wonder is not curiosity, it is recognition. Israel did not sing because they had answers. They sang because they had vision. They witnessed what only Our Father could do, and wonder became their response.
Wonder is what happens when the soul pauses long enough to realize Our Father's operation of immeasurable goodness and love...and most times, when we least expect it.
Familiarity is the enemy of wonder. When Our Father is reduced to concepts, systems, or routine, awe fades. But when wonder is restored, faith rises with a force, worship flows without pressure, and obedience becomes natural.
Wonder is also evangelistic. It is the doorway through which many are reached and taught. People may argue theology, but they cannot deny a life marked by awe. Wonder draws hearts to the table of the Lord because it reveals a Heavenly Father who is living, present, and worth approaching.
Notice the order in the scripture:
• Who is like You (recognition)
• Glorious in holiness (reverence)
• Fearful in praises (awe)
• Doing wonders (expectation)
When Our Father's immeasurable operation is revealed, souls are drawn, not pushed, to the table where fellowship, teaching, and transformation occur.
Prayer
Our Father, restore holy wonder in us. Remove the dullness of familiarity and awaken awe in our spirit. We choose for our lives to reflect Your glory in such a way that many are drawn to You. Open our eyes to behold You and use our wonder to reach and teach souls for Your Kingdom. In the name of Jesus. Amen.
