Wonder While Sleeping

Scripture

“And he dreamed, and behold a ladder set up on the earth, and the top of it reached to Heaven: and behold the angels of God ascending and descending on it.”

Ponder This

Jacob was not striving when he received revelation, he was sleeping. He was no longer planning, controlling, or pushing outcomes. In sleep, resistance ceased. Sleep is the moment we stop driving ourselves to make things happen in our thoughts and in our deeds. When effort rests, wonder awakens.

It was when Jacob stopped moving that Heaven opened. The ladder appeared not by striving, but by surrender. What Our Father reveals in rest cannot be produced by force. Sleep creates space for wonder when resistance ends and Our Father reveals.

Prayer

Our Father, thank You for teaching me that as I sleep, I release resistance and striving. I choose to lay down the need to make things happen. I trust You to work where I cannot. I look forward to my rest and my sleep being a place where You meet me with Your wonder. In the name of Jesus. Amen.
