Scripture: Ephesians 4:1-6 (KJV)
“I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called, with all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love; Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; One Lord, one faith, one baptism, One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.”
Reflection:
How often do we place limits on God without even realizing it? We confine Him to our circumstances, our logic, or our expectations. But Ephesians 4:1-6 challenges us to step into a wonder-filled reality where God is boundless—above all, through all, and in you all. He is at work in ways beyond your imagination, not just in the grand cosmic design but in the ordinary, intimate details of your life.
Walking worthy of the calling means taking the limits off God. It means believing that He is working through situations you don’t understand and through people you may overlook. It means submitting to the body of Christ, recognizing that every believer is part of a unified whole, and God’s glory is revealed in our togetherness. Unity isn’t just an idea; it’s the very essence of God’s nature. When we humble ourselves—choosing love, patience, and peace—we reflect His limitless power to work through His people as one body.
To walk worthy is also to glean wonder from the beauty of His work in the church. Each member of the body of Christ carries a piece of God’s design, and when we submit to one another in love, we see His glory in ways we never could alone. This shared calling is a sacred invitation to marvel at the diversity, unity, and boundless creativity of God working in and through His people.
Take the Limits Off:
• Stop confining God to what you understand. Let Him surprise you.
• Submit to the body of Christ. Lean into the gifts and perspectives of others, trusting that God works through them, too.
• Glean wonder from His creation, His church, and His Spirit working in and through you.
Wonder-Filled Thought:
What limits have you placed on God’s ability to work in your life or through the body of Christ? Imagine the possibilities if you fully submitted to His boundless power and embraced the wonder of His unity.
Prayer:
Father God, forgive me for placing limits on Your work in my life and in the church. Help me to walk worthy of the calling You have given me, with humility, patience, and love. Teach me to submit to the body of Christ, to honor the gifts of others, and to marvel at the unity You create. Fill me with wonder at Your presence above all, through all, and in all. Let my life be a reflection of Your infinite love and power. In the name of Jesus. Amen.
Challenge:
Today, take the limits off God. Submit to the body of Christ by seeking out and listening to another believer’s perspective or testimony. Look for God’s wonder in their story. Write down one way you see His limitless work through the unity of His people, and commit to walking in humility, love, and awe of His power.
