Am I Under Demonic Oppression?
Scripture Focus:
“The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed…”
— Luke 4:18 (NKJV)
Thought:
Sometimes you’re not just tired, you’re tormented. Sometimes it’s not just heaviness, it’s harassment. And sometimes, what you’re battling in the dark isn’t just physical or emotional, it’s spiritual.
If you’ve quietly wondered, “Is this demonic oppression against me?”- you’re not alone. The enemy loves to stay hidden, hoping we’ll mislabel spiritual warfare as simply sickness, stress, cycles, or personality. But when the peace of God is being choked, when your thoughts spiral with torment, when you feel enslaved to habits you hate or can’t explain the heaviness… there may be a deeper battle at work.
But here’s the truth: You don’t have to stay bound. You have authority in Christ.
Deliverance isn’t reserved for a dramatic scene, it’s a daily right of the believer. Through the blood of Jesus, you can renounce, resist, and release what’s not of God.
Self-Deliverance Begins with These Steps:
1. Recognize the oppression - Name what you’re sensing: sickness, fear, torment, lust, confusion, infirmity, etc. Bring it into the light.
2. Repent - Break agreement with any known sin or open door (past or present).
3. Renounce the spirit - Out loud: “I renounce the spirit of [sickness, fear, anger, rejection, etc.]. I break its power in the name of Jesus.”
4. Release it - Command it to leave: “Every unclean spirit tormenting me must go now, in Jesus’ name.”
5. Refill - Invite the Holy Spirit to take residence in every place where bondage was broken.
6. Reinforce your freedom - Feed your faith daily by reading the Word of God out loud - slowly.
• Declare the Word of God out loud - OFTEN.
• Pray OFTEN. 2-way communication - talk with and listen to Papa God.
• Worship boldly and loudly. Reflect on how God has been good to you throughout your life.
• Stay connected to believers who are truly seeking and living the Word - those who sharpen, not suppress your walk.
Deliverance is a door - discipleship is the path that keeps you free.
A Personal Note From My Heart:
I’ve been there - heavily oppressed - in torment. I am sharing what I discovered with you. The moment I brought it to Jesus in honesty, He didn’t shame me, He showed me how to walk in freedom. When no pastor or other person could help me, I started questioning Papa God. He delivered me. When I learned how easy it was - self deliverance, I began practicing it as a normal part of my life. If anything seems too challenging, I learned that most times it is oppression; spiritual warfare. Learning my authority to embrace the liberty of The Kingdom of God, changed life itself for me! I want the same for you.
Letting go is powerful, but you have to feed your faith after the fight. Starving your spirit after deliverance is like cleaning a house and leaving the door wide open. So, stay filled with the Word of God. Stay fed. Exercise 2-way communication with Papa God. Stay surrounded by people who stir your fire for God.
Prayer:
Jesus, any area of my life where the enemy has found access, I invite You to shine Your light. I repent for anything I’ve done knowingly or unknowingly to open a door. I renounce all spirits not of You. I command them to leave in Your name. Fill me, Holy Spirit, with Your power, truth, and freedom. Plant me among believers who pursue You with purity. In the name of Jesus. Amen.
Declaration:
I am not a prisoner of darkness. I am a carrier of light. I have authority through Jesus to break every chain, silence every tormentor, and walk in full deliverance. I will feed my faith, walk in truth, and remain rooted in fellowship with the Body of Christ.
