Be Patient with Yourself
Scripture:
"Being confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus." — Philippians 1:6 (NIV)
Reflection:
We often extend patience to others but struggle to offer the same grace to ourselves. We expect immediate results, perfect decisions, and unwavering strength. But God, in His wisdom, works in us progressively, not instantaneously. His process of refining, healing, and shaping us into His image is ongoing.
Patience towards yourself means trusting God's timing in your growth. It means embracing the reality that setbacks do not cancel His promises. Just as a seed does not become a tree overnight, your spiritual, emotional, and personal development takes time.
Instead of harsh self-criticism, offer yourself the same compassion God extends to you. Keep moving forward, even if it’s slow. Celebrate progress, no matter how small, and trust that He is still working.
Ponder This:
In what area of your life do you need to extend patience to yourself today?
Prayer:
Father, thank You for Your patience with me. Help me to see myself through Your eyes. I am loved, growing, and becoming all You’ve created me to be. I choose to trust Your process and extend grace to myself. In the name of Jesus. Amen.
