Choose Healing

Choose Healing

Scripture: “I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live.” – Deuteronomy 30:19 (NIV)

Reflection

Healing is a choice. Not just physical healing, but emotional, spiritual, and mental healing. Too often, we settle for surviving instead of thriving. We hold onto past wounds, replay painful memories, or carry burdens that Jesus has already offered to take from us. But God calls us to choose life - to step into the healing He has already made available.

When Jesus healed the man at the pool of Bethesda, He asked a simple yet profound question:

“Do you want to be made well?” – John 5:6 (NKJV)

It wasn’t just about physical healing; Jesus was asking if the man was ready to let go of his excuses, his past, and step into a new way of living. Healing requires action, whether it’s forgiving, releasing bitterness, or trusting God more deeply.

Ways to Choose Healing

1. Choose to believe God’s promises“By His wounds we are healed” (Isaiah 53:5).

2. Choose to release the past“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past” (Isaiah 43:18).

3. Choose to walk in faith, not fear“For we live by faith, not by sight” (2 Corinthians 5:7).

4. Choose to renew your mind“Be transformed by the renewing of your mind” (Romans 12:2).

5. Choose joy, even in the process“The joy of the Lord is your strength” (Nehemiah 8:10).

Prayer

Lord, today I choose healing. I lay down every burden, pain, and fear at Your feet. I choose to walk in the wholeness You have already provided through Jesus. Renew my mind, restore my heart, and help me step forward in faith. In the name of Jesus. Amen.
