Choose to Be Relational

Choose to Be Relational

Scripture: “Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.”

– Philippians 2:4 (ESV)

In the pursuit of success, responsibilities, and daily tasks, relationships can unintentionally take a back seat. We rush through conversations, overlook moments to connect, and sometimes treat people as checkpoints rather than cherished souls. But Jesus showed us a different way. He always made time for people.

Martha was busy serving, but Mary sat at Jesus’ feet, choosing relationship over routine (Luke 10:38-42). Jesus reminded her that Mary had chosen “the better part.” What if we, too, chose the better part? What if, instead of just getting things done, we made space for love, connection, and presence?

Today, pause. Call that friend. Check in on a loved one. Slow down and truly listen. The things we accomplish will fade, but relationships, especially those built on love, will last.

Prayer: Father God, help me to slow down and prioritize the people You’ve placed in my life. I desire and choose to love well, listen deeply, and invest in relationships that honor You. In the name of Jesus. Amen.
