Cultivating Where We Are: Faithful Stewardship

Scripture:

1 Chronicles 4:10 (NKJV) — “And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, ‘Oh, that You would bless me indeed and enlarge my territory, that Your hand would be with me, and that You would keep me from evil, that I may not cause pain!’ So God granted him what he requested.”

Luke 16:10 (NIV) — “Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much.”

Reflection:

Instead of solely asking God to “expand our territory,” let’s ask Him to show us how to maximize the territory we already have. Consider the relationships, roles, and responsibilities you’re currently in. God calls us to dig deeper, plant seeds, and invest where we are. Faithfulness in small areas builds a foundation for growth. As we become diligent stewards, God prepares us for an even larger territory.

Prayer:

Lord, thank You for the territory You’ve placed me in. Help me to see opportunities for growth and impact here. Equip me to serve faithfully in this space, and prepare me for whatever You have next. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Action:

Take time to assess your current roles, resources, and relationships. Write down one way you can be more intentional about expanding in those areas—whether it’s deepening a connection, improving a skill, or committing more time to a cause. Then, pray for God’s guidance to make the most of where you are, trusting Him to open new doors in His timing.
