Elevation or Elimination
Scripture: “Every branch in me that does not bear fruit he takes away, and every branch that does bear fruit he prunes, that it may bear more fruit.” – John 15:2
In life, God brings us to moments of elevation or elimination—not as punishment, but as part of His refining process. He desires to elevate what aligns with His purpose and eliminate what hinders our growth.
1. Elevation: When we bear fruit, God lifts us higher, pruning us so we can thrive. This may feel uncomfortable, but it’s His way of preparing us for greater purpose. Are you willing to trust God in the process of being lifted?
2. Elimination: Some things in our lives—habits, relationships, attitudes—must be cut off because they no longer serve God’s purpose. Holding on to these things stunts our growth. Are you clinging to something God is asking you to release?
Reflection:
Ask ABBA today, “What in me needs elevation, and what needs elimination?” Trust Him as both the Gardener who prunes and the Sustainer who lifts you to greater heights.
Prayer:
Father God, search my heart. Elevate what pleases You and eliminate what doesn’t. Help me to trust Your hand in every season of pruning and growth. In the name of Jesus. Amen.
