Embrace Wonder

Scripture:
“Stand still and consider the wondrous works of God.” – Job 37:14 (NKJV)
Reflection:
It’s as easy to embrace wonder as it is to embrace worry. The difference lies in where we set our focus. Worry pulls us into the unknown with fear, while wonder invites us into the unknown with awe. When we worry, we imagine all that could go wrong; when we embrace wonder, we imagine all that God is doing, seen and unseen.
Jesus reminds us in Matthew 6:26 to look at the birds of the air, how they neither sow nor reap, yet God provides for them. This is an invitation to shift from anxiety to awe, from stress to stillness, from fear to faith.
When we choose to embrace wonder, we begin to see God’s fingerprints in the ordinary, the sunrise, the kindness of a stranger, the unexpected provision, and the whisper of peace in chaos. We realize that life is filled with divine surprises waiting to be noticed.
Application:
• When worry creeps in, pause and redirect your thoughts to something wonderful God has done.
• Spend a moment in nature, observing the beauty of God’s creation as a reminder of His power.
• Keep a “wonder journal” where you record moments of awe, gratitude, and God’s faithfulness.
Prayer:
Father, I choose to shift my focus from worry to wonder. Thanks for helping me to focus more. Open my eyes to see Your hand at work in my life and the world around me. Let my heart be filled with awe instead of anxiety, and I desire to embrace each moment with the expectation of Your goodness. In the name of Jesus. Amen.
