The spirit of fear is not from God, but it can creep into our hearts and minds, paralyzing us from moving forward. God equips us with power, love, and a sound mind to resist fear and embrace His peace. Friendship with God invites us to lean on His presence and walk boldly, knowing He strengthens us for every challenge. His constant companionship gives us courage to overcome fear and discouragement.
Scriptures:
“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” — 2 Timothy 1:7 (NKJV)
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” — Joshua 1:9 (NIV)
Reflection:
The spirit of fear can overtake us and grow when we allow and entertain it. What thoughts or situations are you holding onto that feed fear in your life? How can you shift your focus to God’s promises and trust His presence today?
Prayer:
Lord, thank You for giving me power, love, and a sound mind to resist fear. Help me recognize the ways fear creeps in, and teach me to rest in Your presence. Strengthen me to move forward with courage, knowing You are with me wherever I go. Amen.
