Experiencing God's Glory

Scripture Focus:

Exodus 33:18-19: Moses asks, “Show me your glory,” and God responds, “I will cause all my goodness to pass in front of you, and I will proclaim my name, the Lord, in your presence.”

2 Corinthians 3:18: “And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory.”

What is God’s Glory?

God’s glory represents the fullness of His presence, power, and majesty. It is His character, His goodness, and His holiness revealed. When we seek and experience God’s glory, we are seeking more than just an emotional or supernatural experience—we are engaging with His very nature and the transformative power of His presence.

Ways to Experience God’s Glory:

1. Seeking His Presence Through Prayer and Worship:

• Experiencing God’s glory starts with a hunger for His presence. As Moses asked, “Show me Your glory,” we too can boldly ask God to reveal Himself to us. Through deep worship and prayer, we invite His glory into our lives. As Psalm 22:3 says, God inhabits the praises of His people.

2. Living with a Pure Heart:

• Matthew 5:8 says, “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.” Purity in heart and life opens the way for a deeper experience of God’s glory. Sin and disobedience hinder the manifestation of God’s presence, but confession and repentance restore that connection.

3. Transformation by the Holy Spirit:

• As we seek God’s glory, the Holy Spirit transforms us into His likeness, as seen in 2 Corinthians 3:18. This transformation occurs when we consistently dwell in His presence, allowing His glory to renew and refine us.

4. Manifestations of Glory:

• Throughout the Bible, God’s glory is often manifested visibly, like a cloud, fire, or overwhelming light (Exodus 40:34, Matthew 17:5). However, in the New Testament, the glory of God is revealed through the person of Jesus Christ (John 1:14). Go into discovery of His glory. We can experience His glory in our daily lives through divine encounters, miracles, and a deeper awareness of His goodness.

Take Special Note:

Experiencing God’s glory is not a one-time event but a journey of seeking Him daily through prayer, worship, purity, and transformation by the Holy Spirit. As we seek His presence, He reveals His glory, transforming us into His likeness and filling our lives with His power, goodness, and peace.

Prayer:

Lord, show me Your glory. Let me experience Your presence in my life in deeper ways. Transform me to reflect Your holiness and fill me with Your power and love. Amen.
