Eyes on the Eternal
Scripture:
“So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.”
-2 Corinthians 4:18
Ponder This:
The pull of the temporary is strong - daily problems, desire to achieve, shifting emotions, and the noise of this world fight for our attention. But the Word calls us higher. Our Sweet Father reminds us that the things we see now are passing away, but the unseen realities of His Kingdom will last forever.
Even now, the earth is groaning with the birth pains Jesus spoke of - wars, famines, pestilence, earthquakes, and spiritual deception - signs pointing to His soon return (Matthew 24:4–8). For those in Christ, these are not signs to fear but reminders that we are drawing closer to the day when we will be caught up… to meet the Lord in the air (1 Thessalonians 4:17).
When we fix our gaze on eternity, our priorities shift. Worries shrink, faith grows, and joy deepens. Trials will still come, but they lose their power to control us because our hearts are anchored in what cannot fade - Our Sweet Father's presence, His promises, and the hope of Heaven.
Prayer:
Sweet Father, lift my eyes above the temporary. Help me see as You see and value what will last forever. Keep my heart ready for Your return, watching and working until You come. In the name of Jesus. Amen.
Declaration:
I set my focus on the eternal. My hope, my joy, and my treasure are in Christ alone. I will be ready when the trumpet sounds.
