For His Glory, and the Perfecting of His Body
Key Scripture:
“And He gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ.”
— Ephesians 4:11-13 (KJV)
Reflection:
God’s ultimate goal for His Church is that we be a reflection of His glory in the earth. Every role, every gift, and every act of service in the Body of Christ is designed to contribute to the perfecting of His people. It is not about individual accolades or recognition, but about collectively building something far greater—His glorious, unified Body.
The word “perfecting” here doesn’t mean flawlessness but maturity and completeness in Christ. As each of us yields to God’s purpose, He uses our strengths, weaknesses, and even our trials to shape us into a Body that operates in the fullness of His power. This work is not just for our benefit—it is for His glory. When we walk in unity and obedience, the world sees His character reflected through us.
And here’s the wonder—wonder is in the rise. Each time we choose love over division, grace over bitterness, and obedience over self-will, we are rising together into the fullness of Christ. With every step upward, His glory becomes more evident. It’s in the rise of His people that we see the wonder of His transforming power.
Call to Action:
Ask yourself today: How am I contributing to the edification of His Body? Are my gifts, my words, and my actions building others up and glorifying Him? This is a collective mission. Together, we reflect His glory and grow into the stature of Christ. The wonder is in how we rise—together, for His glory.
Prayer:
Our Father, thank You for the gifts You have placed within Your Body. Help us to work together in unity, not for personal gain, but for the perfecting of Your saints and the glory of Your name. Teach us to rise with wonder and humility, knowing that every step upward reveals more of Your beauty and power. May Your Church shine brightly in the world as a testimony of Your majesty. In the name of Jesus. Amen.
