Fun-Day Sunday: Joy Is Holy Too
Scripture: “This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.”
— Psalm 118:24 (KJV)
Devotion:
Too often, we think holiness and joy sit on opposite sides, but in the Kingdom of God, joy is not a distraction, it’s a demonstration of His goodness. That’s why we can celebrate a Fun-Day Sunday (but not limited to Sundays) with purpose and praise!
God delights in His people when we laugh, connect, rest, and enjoy the life He gave us. Whether you’re fellowshipping after worship service, playing games with your family, sharing a meal, or simply resting in His presence, your joy is worship when it’s rooted in gratitude and grace.
Jesus went to weddings. He reclined at tables with friends. He told parables that made people smile. He blessed children and welcomed joy into holy spaces. He was holy and joyful. So today and every day of your life, choose to celebrate life, love people, and create moments that honor God with a smile.
Fun-Day Sunday is not just about fun. It’s about refreshing the soul in fellowship, laughter, and love...gifts straight from Heaven.
Declaration:
I will rejoice today! My joy honors God. Fun is not fleshly, it’s fruitful when rooted in love. I choose to celebrate life, love others, and worship the Lord with gladness!
Prayer:
Lord, thank You for the gift of joy. Help me to delight in the life You’ve given me. Let my rest, laughter, and fellowship refresh my soul and reflect Your love. Bless this Fun-Day Sunday with moments that draw me closer to You and to those I love. In the name of Jesus. Amen.
