I’ve Waited. I Want the Promise!
“Hope deferred maketh the heart sick: but when the desire cometh, it is a tree of life.”
—Proverbs 13:12 (KJV)
Ponder This:
There’s a rise from the faithful - those who have waited, prayed, believed, and endured. It’s not a movement of impatience. It’s expectant faith: “I’ve waited… and I want the promise!”
Waiting doesn’t make you weak, it refines your faith; fortifies your stance. But eventually, hope delayed begins to ache. That’s when God breathes fresh wind on the vision and reminds you: I’m not finished. You’re still in line for the promise.
Just like Caleb, who boldly declared at 85:
Joshua 14:10–12 (KJV):
10 And now, behold, the Lord hath kept me alive, as he said, these forty and five years, even since the Lord spake this word unto Moses, while the children of Israel wandered in the wilderness: and now, lo, I am this day fourscore and five years old.
11 As yet I am as strong this day as I was in the day that Moses sent me: as my strength was then, even so is my strength now, for war, both to go out, and to come in.
12 Now therefore give me this mountain, whereof the Lord spake in that day; for thou heardest in that day how the Anakims were there, and that the cities were great and fenced: if so be the Lord will be with me, then I shall be able to drive them out, as the Lord said.
Grab This:
Caleb’s spirit never lost its edge. He remembered what God said and refused to settle. He didn’t ask for comfort, he asked for the exact land God promised.
You too may have walked through delay, but don’t lose your hunger. Let these words rise in you:
"I want the promise!”
Prayer:
Father God, I’ve waited through the wilderness, but I’ve held onto Your Word. I’ve endured delay, but I refuse to let go of what You said. Today, I ask in faith - Give me the promise. Restore my strength like Caleb. Let me inherit what was spoken over my life. I am ready. In the name of Jesus. Amen.
