I Will Be Filled...
Scripture:
“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.” – Matthew 5:6 (NIV)
Ponder This:
There is a deep longing in every soul, an emptiness that only God can satisfy. We often try to fill it with success, relationships, or worldly pleasures, but these things leave us wanting more. True fulfillment comes only when we hunger and thirst for God’s righteousness.
When Jesus spoke these words in the Sermon on the Mount, He wasn’t referring to a casual interest in righteousness. He described a deep, desperate hunger, a yearning that drives our actions and thoughts. Just as our bodies crave food and water to survive, our spirits crave the presence of God to truly live.
What does it mean to be filled?
• It means being satisfied in God’s presence, where no earthly thing can compare.
• It means having the strength to walk in His ways, empowered by His Spirit.
• It means experiencing joy, peace, and purpose beyond human understanding.
God promises to fill those who seek Him with their whole hearts. If you’ve been feeling empty or spiritually drained, take heart. The very hunger you feel is an invitation from God to come closer, to feast on His Word, and to drink deeply from His living waters.
Prayer:
Father, I come to You with a hunger and thirst that only You can satisfy. Fill me with Your righteousness and renew my spirit. I desire for my heart to be filled with Your presence today and always. In the name of Jesus. Amen.
Reflection:
• What are you currently filling your heart with?
• How can you increase your hunger for God?
• Take a moment to ask God to fill you afresh with His Spirit today.
You will be filled as you keep seeking and trusting. Watch and see how God satisfies your soul in ways you never imagined.
