It Feels Good to Complete the Lord’s Work

It Feels Good to Complete the Lord’s Work

Scripture

“Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work.”

– John 4:34 (KJV)

Ponder This

There is a deep joy that nothing else can match: the joy of finishing what Papa asked us to do. The world applauds busyness, but Heaven celebrates completion. Jesus Himself said His nourishment, His very strength, came from doing the Father’s will and completing it.

When we obey and finish an assignment, whether it’s sharing a word of encouragement, serving a family in need, praying for someone, or faithfully carrying out a calling - we step into a satisfaction that the world cannot give. It feels good because it’s eternal. It feels good because it reflects Jesus, who declared on the cross, “It is finished.”

Completion brings rest to the soul. It affirms that our labor is not in vain, that Our Father wastes nothing, and that every act of obedience adds a thread to His eternal story.

Prayer

Papa, thank You for the joy of completing Your work. Strengthen me not only to start but also to finish. I yield myself with a desire to choose to complete every assignment You place in my hands to bring glory to You, that I will know the satisfaction of saying, “I have done what You asked of me.”

Activation

Think of one task Papa has put on your heart that is unfinished. Today, commit to completing it. As you do, notice the peace and joy that rise up when you walk in obedience to the end.
