Listening with the Heart
Scripture:
“He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.”
— Matthew 11:15 (KJV)
Devotion:
Listening is more than hearing sounds; it’s an act of the heart. In the Kingdom, listening is a posture of humility. It’s how we tune into God’s voice - His whispers, His warnings, and His wonders.
Many times, we miss our next move because we’re too busy talking or distracted by noise. But God still speaks, often in a still small voice. When we listen, we honor Him. We show that His voice carries more weight than our own plans.
Hidden treasures are often buried right within our own territory. Opportunities, relationships, solutions, and divine strategies are waiting to be uncovered. But if we don’t listen, we will miss the hidden treasures. In the flesh, we certainly will walk past the very thing He has assigned for our growth, healing, or breakthrough.
Listening makes room for clarity, conviction, and correction. It is in the stillness that revelation flows and direction becomes clear. Don’t just hear, take heed. Lean in. Be attentive. The treasure is often in the instruction.
Prayer:
Oh Lord, open our ears and still our hearts. We desire to listen, not just with our ears, but with our spirits. Thank You for helping us to hear what You are revealing, so we don’t miss the treasures You’ve placed around us. Speak Lord. Your servants are listening. In the name of Jesus. Amen.
