Peace, Be Still

Peace, Be Still

Scripture

“He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, ‘Peace! Be still!’ Then the wind died down and it was completely calm.”

— Mark 4:39 (NIV)

Ponder This

Just like the disciples in the storm, our bodies can feel tossed around by noise, stress, and demands. The nervous system often reacts like crashing waves - heart racing, breath shallow, mind spinning. But Jesus shows us that storms can be calmed with one word: Peace.

When life overstimulates us, we don’t have to stay in that storm. Jesus not only speaks peace to the seas outside of us, He also whispers peace to the storm within us. The same voice that quieted the winds can regulate your heart, your breath, and your thoughts.

Prayer

Father God, I thank You that You care for my whole being, my spirit, soul, and body. When my inner world feels overstimulated, teach me to hear Your voice saying "Peace, be still." Calm my racing thoughts, relax my tense body, and quiet my restless emotions. I yield for Your Spirit to reset me so I live from a place of holy rest. In the name of Jesus. Amen.

Declaration

“I receive the peace of Christ today. My body is safe, my mind is sound, and my spirit is steady in Him. I walk in calm confidence because the Prince of Peace lives in me.”

Activation

• Take one hand to your heart and the other to your belly.

• Breathe in deeply and whisper, “Peace in.”

• Exhale slowly and whisper, “Be still.”

• Repeat 3–5 times and picture Jesus calming the storm inside you.
