Pray the Prayer of Preparation
Scripture Focus:
“For this is he who was spoken of by the prophet Isaiah, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness: Prepare the way of the Lord; make His paths straight.”
— Matthew 3:3 (NKJV)
Insight:
There is a kind of prayer that doesn’t wait for the battle to break out or for the crisis to come crashing in. It’s the Prayer of Preparation, a bold, faith-filled positioning of your heart before the pressure mounts.
John the Baptist cried out in the wilderness, “Prepare the way of the Lord!”- not because Jesus was already there, but because something holy was on the way. That’s what preparation prayer does: it makes room before the arrival, it levels spiritual ground, and it clears out the clutter in our minds, hearts, and homes so that glory can rest.
Too often, we pray from reaction, not preparation. But when we pray in preparation, we:
• Preload our spirit with strength
• Create an atmosphere where God’s Word can take root
• Stop the enemy’s ambush before it forms
• Welcome divine assignments with readiness
Prayer of Preparation Declaration:
Lord, I prepare my heart now for miracles. I won’t wait until I’m overwhelmed by the pressures that usher in miracles. I look to You. I yield my schedule, my thoughts, my relationships, and my decisions to You. Make my crooked places straight. Clear the noise in my mind. Give me eyes to see and ears to hear before the pressure comes. Let me carry the posture of one prepared - so that when the moment arrives, I don’t panic - I partner to see Your miracles. In the name of Jesus. Amen.
Activation Step (Shift Your Mindset):
Today, take 10 minutes to journal a “Preparation List.”
Ask:
• What am I expecting God to do in this season?
• What would preparation look like in my spirit, in my space, and in my schedule?
Then pray:
“Lord, prepare me for what You’re about to release. Let me not be found scrambling, but standing - expectant and equipped.”
