Scripture: 2 Corinthians 13:5 (KJV)
“Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?”
Reflection:
Self-examination is not about tearing yourself down but aligning yourself with God’s truth. Too often, we look at ourselves through the lens of shame, pride, or fear. But God invites us to reframe our lens and see ourselves as He does—beloved, redeemed, and called to purpose.
This process is not for condemnation but for transformation. It’s a moment to pause, pray, and ask: Am I living in alignment with God’s Word? Am I allowing fear, pride, or offense to block His work in my life? When you examine yourself through God’s eyes, you uncover areas for growth, embrace His grace, and realign with His purpose.
Psalm 139:23-24 reminds us: “Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.” This prayer is a powerful invitation for God to guide you, not to shame you but to elevate you.
Application:
1. Pause and pray, asking the Holy Spirit to guide your thoughts.
2. Reflect on areas where your life might not align with God’s Word.
3. Embrace grace, knowing God’s correction is rooted in His love and desire to refine you.
Prayer:
Father, search my heart and reveal anything that separates me from You. Help me to see myself through Your eyes—not with shame, but with hope and a desire to grow. Lead me into alignment with Your will and transform my heart to reflect Your love and purpose. In the name of Jesus. Amen.
Final Thought:
Reframing your lens to examine yourself through God’s eyes allows you to grow in grace and realign with His purpose. Let self-examination lead you closer to the wonders He has prepared for you.
