Summoned, Strengthened, Sent
Scripture Focus: Read Zechariah Chapter 10
Key Verse:
“They shall be like mighty men, who tread down their enemies… they shall fight because the Lord is with them.”
—Zechariah 10:5 (NKJV)
Devotional Word:
In a time when confusion abounds and spiritual dryness threatens the land, Zechariah 10 opens with a divine instruction: Ask the Lord for rain in the time of the latter rain. This is not just about physical rain, it’s about spiritual outpouring. The Lord is ready to release provision, direction, and power, but it begins with our asking.
As we read Zechariah 10, we discover a powerful vision of God’s people being restored, reconnected, and recommissioned as a mighty army. God calls out false voices that mislead and declares His intention to raise up true shepherds...leaders who will care, protect, and equip.
But this chapter isn’t just about leadership, it’s about all of us. It’s about the body of believers rising in unity, each one receiving strength from the Cornerstone, Christ Himself. From Him comes the tent peg (security), the battle bow (power), and every ruler joined together (unity).
We are being summoned. We are being strengthened. And we are being sent. No more wandering. No more worry. No more isolation. Zechariah 10 reminds us that we cannot war without the presence of God, and we cannot win without one another.
Reflection:
• Where have we allowed worry to weaken our warfare?
• Are we aligned with those God is calling us to war alongside?
• Are we ready to be part of a “ruler together” movement, an Ecclesia in unity and motion?
Prayer:
Father God, we hear Your call in Zechariah 10. We ask You for the latter rain. Pour out Your Spirit afresh on our lives, congregations, and communities. Restore what’s been scattered. Root out false voices. Raise up true shepherds and warriors. Strengthen our hands for battle and unite us as one body under Christ. We receive our summons, we walk in Your strength, and we say yes to being sent. In the name of Jesus. Amen.
