Teach! Make Disciples...

Teach! Make Disciples...

Scripture:

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” - Matthew 28:19-20 (NIV)

Devotion:

Teaching is more than a profession; it is a calling. Whether you realize it or not, you are a teacher. Your life, your words, and your actions are constantly instructing those around you. The question is not if you are teaching but what you are teaching.

Jesus’ final command to His disciples was to go and teach others. He didn’t reserve this task for scholars, preachers, or those with formal training. Instead, He commissioned everyday believers to share His truth. Teaching is not only about standing behind a pulpit or leading a classroom; it is woven into daily conversations, moments of encouragement, and the way you live out your faith.

Consider your home, your workplace, your community, or even the person you encounter at the grocery store. Are you teaching patience, love, and grace through your interactions? Are you pointing others to Jesus by the way you respond to difficulties? Are you willing to share the wisdom and understanding that God has given you?

Teaching doesn’t require perfection, only a willing heart. God doesn’t expect you to have all the answers, but He does call you to be faithful. The best lessons are often taught through authenticity, transparency, and love.

Reflection Questions:

1. What lessons is your life teaching those around you?

2. Are you actively sharing the wisdom God has given you, or are you hesitant to teach others?

3. How can you be more intentional in fulfilling Christ’s command to teach and disciple?

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, thank You for the privilege of being a vessel of Your truth. Help me to be mindful of the way I teach through my words, actions, and example. Give me wisdom, courage, and humility to share Your love with those around me. Let my life be a reflection of Your grace, leading others closer to You. In the name of Jesus. Amen.
