The God of Peace Will Crush Satan

ree

Scripture Focus:

“The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus be with you.” — Romans 16:20

Devotional Thought:

The book of Romans offers powerful truths about the gospel, grace, and God’s promises for His people. In Romans 16:20, Paul ends his letter with a bold assurance: Satan, the enemy of our souls, will be crushed. Notice how Paul calls God the “God of peace”—a reminder that even in spiritual battles, God’s peace rules over chaos.

While we live in a fallen world where the enemy still attempts to deceive and destroy, this verse gives us hope. The crushing of Satan is not a distant possibility—it’s a promise. Through Jesus Christ, God has already secured victory over the enemy. The cross and the resurrection were Satan’s defeat, and God is actively working through His people to enforce that victory.

Paul’s words also highlight our role in this process. He says Satan will be crushed under your feet. This means that as we walk in obedience, faith, and authority in Christ, we play a part in enforcing the victory Jesus secured.

Discovery Moment:

Reflect on areas in your life where you feel the enemy is attacking—whether it’s your relationships, health, finances, or peace of mind. Write them down, and then pray over them with the confidence that God is working to crush Satan’s schemes. Declare this promise over your life: “The God of peace is crushing Satan under my feet!”

Key Truths to Discover:

1. God’s Power Brings Peace: The crushing of Satan is not chaotic but rooted in God’s peace. His presence gives us rest, even in the midst of battles.

2. Victory is Already Secured: Through Jesus, Satan’s ultimate defeat is guaranteed. His power over us has been broken (Colossians 2:15).

3. We Walk in Authority: As believers, we are not powerless. In Christ, we have authority to resist the enemy and see him flee (James 4:7).

Practical Application:

Stand Firm in Faith: When challenges arise, remind yourself of God’s promise to fight for you and crush the enemy.

Use God’s Word: Declare scriptures like Romans 16:20, Ephesians 6:10-17 (the armor of God), and James 4:7 to stand against the enemy’s schemes.

Live in God’s Peace: Focus on trusting God, avoiding fear, and embracing His peace, knowing the battle is already won.

Closing Prayer:

Father God, You are the God of peace, and I thank You for the promise that Satan is already defeated. Help me to stand firm in my faith, trusting in Your power to crush every scheme of the enemy under my feet. Give me the strength to walk in Your peace and declare victory in every area of my life. May Your grace sustain me as I wait for the full manifestation of Your promises. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Action Point:

Meditate on Romans 16:20. Each time you feel challenged or attacked, speak this promise aloud: “The God of peace will crush Satan under my feet!” Walk confidently, knowing that victory is yours in Christ.
