Walking Out of the Grave
Scripture Focus:
“Come forth!” – John 11:43
Devotion:
The Holy Spirit has revealed a profound truth: many in the Ecclesia (the body of Christ) are not lifeless zombies as may appear, but wounded souls walking out of deep grief, depression, and spiritual stagnation. These wounds have grieved and quenched the Spirit of the living God within. Yet, we have made a choice—a choice to walk out of mourning and rise from spiritual graves.
This image is a reflection of God’s redeeming power. Just as Lazarus was called out of the tomb by Jesus’ command, so too is the Ecclesia being called out of places of spiritual death and despair. Depression, grief, and the wounds of the past may have held us captive, but the resurrection power of Christ within us is greater.
In Ezekiel 37, God commanded the dry bones to live. Likewise, the Spirit of God is breathing life into us who have been bound by mourning and depression. We are not walking out alone—we are being led by the Spirit into a place of freedom, healing, and restoration.
The choice to leave the grave requires faith. It requires stepping out of the familiar pain and into the unknown of God’s promises. Yet, this is the place where the Spirit of the Lord begins to flow freely once again.
If you find yourself in this place, know this: God sees you. He honors your choice to rise. And He will meet you with healing, hope, and a fresh anointing as you walk forward.
Challenge:
Reflect on areas in your life where you’ve been mourning or spiritually stagnant. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you step out of those places and into the fullness of His life and power.
Prayer:
Holy Spirit, thank You for revealing the truth that even in my wounded places, You are calling me to rise. I choose to leave behind the mourning, depression, and grief that have held me. Breathe life into me, Lord, and flow freely through me as I walk forward in faith. In the name of Jesus. Amen.
Reflection:
What does walking out of the grave look like for you? How can you allow the Spirit of the living God to flow freely through your life today?
